I can’t quite tell but the monograms are some combination of “FC" or "CF” I believe… The silver portions all bear the silversmith marks for Mappin & Webb

and there are a couple of shrinkage cracks to be seen

you can see some faint hairline cracks within the deep cobalt blue but no notable losses or damage

Very French, metal or ormolu framework with thin natural shell fitted in. Not veneer, but making up the entire panel of side or top. Because that method lends itself to some shrinkage, warp, hairlines and damage if dropped, not so many remain in this era. The one shown here is very sweet, petit and still has the old original violet silk interior. A
